The Recce of 2016

In 2016, we embarked on a recce that would change our perspective forever. As the dense forest behind our farm plot underwent transformation, we were faced with profound changes that saddened us as forest lovers. The clearing of the forest and the planting of different species such as acacia and oil palm trees left us perplexed. Lizy, who had lived amidst these forests for years, recounted stories of the lush, vibrant ecosystem that once thrived here—a food forest teeming with diverse species of trees and wildlife. This realization prompted us to turn our farm plot into a sanctuary, inspired by the memories of the past and driven by a desire to preserve and renew.
