Kerala local administration facilitates multi-level honey bee farming training

The State Horticulture Corporation conducted a comprehensive training program for bee farmers and enthusiasts from Muvatupuzha Block Panchayat in Ernakulam district on March 14th, 15th, and 16th, 2024. This initiative aimed to equip participants with essential skills and knowledge to enhance agricultural practices in the region.
The training covered a wide range of topics including modern farming techniques, and market strategies.
The sessions were interactive and engaging, providing participants with practical insights and hands-on experience. Attendees actively participated in discussions and workshops, exchanging ideas and best practices to improve agricultural productivity and sustainability.
Moreover, the Corporation facilitated field visits, allowing participants to observe successful agricultural practices firsthand and learn from experienced farmers in the area. The culminating event of the program was a seminar held on March 16th at the Mini Civil Station in Muvatupuzha. Renowned experts and agricultural specialists delivered insightful presentations on emerging trends and technologies in the agricultural sector. The seminar provided a platform for networking and knowledge sharing among participants, fostering collaboration and synergy in the pursuit of agricultural development.

Additionally, in collaboration with the State Horticulture Corporation, farmers from seven agricultural centers in Perinthalmanna Block of Malappuram district received training on honey cultivation at the Alipparambu Agricultural Development Area (ADA) from March 11th to 13th, 2024. This training, conducted under the guidance of ADA experts, focused on beekeeping techniques, honey production, and marketing strategies.
The participants benefitted from hands-on training sessions and field visits, where they gained practical experience in setting up beehives, managing colonies, and harvesting honey. Furthermore, on March 13th, certificates were awarded to the farmers who successfully completed the training program, acknowledging their commitment to adopting sustainable agricultural practices and diversifying their income sources through honey cultivation.

Also, From March 11th to 13th, 2024, the Horti Corp provided training, application forms, and certificates to beekeepers who attended from seven agricultural villages in the Areekode block panchayat of Malappuram district.
