Step 1: Space Selection and Preparation
- Location: Choose a well-drained area with access to sunlight. Dragon fruit plants require full sun exposure, so select a location with minimal shade.
- Construct Trellises: Set up trellises to support the dragon fruit plants. Trellises should be sturdy and at least 6-8 feet in height to accommodate the growth of the plants. We use natural sustainable support systems at our farm. Will add a guide on that in this space in the coming posts.
- Spacing: Plan for rows with adequate spacing (8-10 feet) between them to allow room for the plants to grow and provide space for maintenance.

- Hand Pollination: In the absence of natural pollinators, hand pollination can be carried out by transferring pollen between flowers using a small brush or cotton swab.
Step 10: Harvesting Dragon Fruit
- Ripeness Indicators: Dragon fruit is typically ready for harvest 30-50 days after flowering. It should be plucked when it reaches the desired ripeness and color. A ripe fruit will separate easily from the stem.
